The confectionery industry “Made in Italy”: A dynamic sector that is constantly growing
The Confectionery Industry scored a good production growth in 2010: +1.9% in volume and +4.5% in value. The overall production was slightly lower than 1,9 mln tons, for a value of more than 12 billion Euros.
The export of confectionery is very positive: it grew by +8,5% in volume in 2010 against a growth by +11.3% in value.

A.I.D.EP.I: New associative expression of the sector
Since 2010, the Associazione delle Industrie del Dolce e della Pasta Italiane (Association of the Italian Confectionery and Pasta) is a new actuality born from the merging of two pre-existing category associations, Association of the Italian Confectionery Companies and Union of Italian Industrial Pasta Makers.
Today A.I.D.EP.I. – making use of the experience and passion of the two associations it comes from, - represents and safeguards the Italian companies making pasta, sweets, chocolate and cocoa-based products, biscuits and confectionery bakery products, ice creams,, desserts, indutrial confectionery and breakfast cereals.

Billion Euros – equalling 22% of the total – establish the leadership of the food national export
