The contest that crowns Italy’s Best Cheesemonger
WHAT HAPPENS AT THE GRAN PREMIO DEL FORMAGGIAIO?
On May 6, at Cibus, the five finalists will compete live in six challenges, plus a special challenge organized by the Parmigiano Reggiano PDO Consortium, in front of an international jury and the show’s audience.
Afterwards, the awards ceremony will name the Best Cheesemonger of Italy 2027, who receives, in addition to the trophy and membership of the Guilde Internationale des Fromagers Italia for the current year, access to the Mondial du Fromage in Tours.

COMPETITION CATEGORIES
At the award you’ll find cheesemongers, counter staff, resellers and retailers who work or have worked in the dairy sector, all skilled in cutting, serving and storytelling.

Two editions that celebrated:
- Roberto Guermandi, owner of L’Angolo della Freschezza in Bologna, first Best Cheesemonger of Italy 2022
- Marco Zacchello, partner at Formaggi Stevanato, Trebaseleghe (Padua), Best Cheesemonger of Italy 2024
Both then flew to Tours to compete in the Mondial du Fromage.
